Barking becomes a dog behavior problem when the barking is very loud or excessive.That will cause a problem for yourself and your neighbors, especially at night when you and your neighbors are trying to sleep.

Actually, barking is a dog’s method of communication. However, there are some reasons for excessive dog barking such as:

They are bored and do not have enough activity or exercise.
They are frustrated when they want to do something but they can’t.
They are scared.

There are some simple methods that you can use to reduce the amount of barking of your dog such as:

Exercise your dog more often. So your dog will have fun and won’t get bored. All you need to do is walk your dog every day.

Train your dog to stop barking. You can train the dog to stop by teaching it to react to a certain commands, for example, if you say “hush”. Don’t forget to give your dog a treat every time a command is successfully obeyed.

Give your dog more attention. Dogs like attention and affection. Don’t leave your dog alone for a long time. It will bark more often because of frustration and boredom.

These are some of the simple techniques you can try to use to reduce your dogs barking problem. Training your dog properly might be the most affective method to overcome dog behavior problem.
